How Is a New Gas Supply Tested, Purged and Commissioned?

New or altered pipework has a strength test first, then a tightness test to IGEM/UP/1 or IGEM/UP/1A. The pipework is pressurised, left to settle and watched for a set period. If the pressure holds within the permitted limit, it passes.

Commissioning finishes the job. Each appliance is lit, set to the manufacturer figures and checked under full load, safety devices are proved and the readings are recorded. You receive the test, purge and commissioning records for the building file.

Decommissioning and Capping Between Tenancies on Multi-Let Estates
